Fire Cider is a traditional herbal preparation that is often one of the first herbal creations that a beginning herbalist might learn how to make in taking a community herbalism course in the US. Simple, kitchen-based ingredients such as apple cider vinegar, onions, garlic, and hot peppers come together with immune system supporting herbs such as ginger, horseradish, elecampane and burdock to create a complexly flavored, pungent and spicy herbal base for soups, stews, salad dressings, and yummy cocktails and mocktails.
Our favorite everyday use is by the tablespoon, drizzled unto steamed veggies, rice, or salad. Best combined with 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
Another fun use is added as an extra punch to a Molly's Mule or Bloody Mary Cocktail. So good!
