Hydrosols

Eric has always been fascinated with the alchemy of distillation.  Not interested in alcohol, he wanted to learn more about how to capture the aromatic properties of plants in other ways.  Not one to half step, he decided to build his own still in order to accommodate our small scale while also making equipment that can be used to make in a food grade product.

As with so many if our products, our team hand harvests our herbs at the peak of aromatic expression, and we typically distill with fresh plants to avoid loss of delicate aromatics upon drying. Distilling fresh also means that the cellular water of the plant is part of what ends up in the finished hydrosol. 

Enjoy our hydrosols as facial spray, in wound and skin care, as well as in beverage craft.  Try spritzing the top of a glass of seltzer water or add to the outside of a glass to enhance the experience of the drink each time your fingers touch the glass.  Divine.
