Known by some as "The King of Bitters", we have finally figured out how to grow this acutely bitter herb after years of unsuccessful attempts at cultivation and are excited to offer the fresh plant extract.

This herb is used in cases of acute illness to provide support through it's drying and cooling qualities.  It is for this reason that this is a primary herb on our Defend Formula- which is meant to be taken with hot damp respiratory conditions.  Additionally, it's bitter qualities work to stimulate digestive secretions, which assist in supporting nutrition and metabolism as well as elimination.

We use fresh aerial parts in flower to make this tincture.  Our recipe ratio is 1 part fresh plant to 2 parts menstruum, resulting in approximately 500 mg/mL of plant material.
