At Bluestem, our extracts are crafted by herbalists with years of experience working with plants. Co-Owner Linda Shanahan learned how to make her first herbal extract in 1998 and hasn't looked back, adding to her skill set by both teaching others and continuing to learn from other medicine makers whenever she has the chance.
Most of the tinctures that we make are crafted with our own farm grown, certified organic and fresh (or freshly dried) plants. If we have difficulty growing a plant for a particular extract, we first seek out other local farmers before expanding our net to farmers in the greater Northeast and eventually the United States if necessary.
